The present invention relates to fire resistant composite materials and to fire resistant fabric materials and mattresses made therefrom. The composite materials include (a) a substrate selected from the group consisting of cotton, rayon, lyocell and blends thereof, and (b) a coating consisting essentially of water, ammonium polyphosphate, binder material, cross~-linking material, thickener material and a catalyst. The binder material bonds the ammonium polyphosphate, cross-linking material, thickener material and catalyst together and to the substrate such that the substrate is coated with the coating.
L'invention concerne des matériaux composites résistant au feu, des matériaux en tissus résistant au feu et des matelas fabriqués en de tels matériaux. Les matériaux composites comprennent (a) un substrat choisi à partir de coton, rayonne, Lyocell<SP>R</SP> et mélanges de ces produits, et (b) un revêtement comprenant essentiellement de l'eau, du polyphosphate d'ammonium, un produit liant, un produit réticulant, un épaississant et un catalyseur. Le liant a pour effet de lier le polyphosphate d'ammonium, le réticulant, l'épaississant et le catalyseur entre eux et au substrat, de façon que ce substrat soit enduit de ce revêtement.
