A knee joint prosthesis comprising two rotatably interconnected members (10, 11), the first of which carrying a braking device (18, 23) which via a pivot axle (20) is rotatably connected to one of said interconnected members (10, 11). The braking device when inactivated is arranged to permit the interconnected members (10, 11) to rotate with respect to each other but upon activation is arranged to prevent rotation from extended to bent position of the knee prosthesis. The knee joint prosthesis further comprises brake activating means (21, 22) for activation of the braking device (17). The braking device presents a geometrical centre and said pivot axle (20) being located off-centre with respect to said geometrical centre. The knee joint prosthesis further comprising an upper socket (14a) adapted for connection to an upper leg prosthesis or prosthesis sleeve (12) and a lower socket (14b) adapted for connection to a lower leg prosthesis (13), each socket including angularly adjustable connection means (36-39).
Cette invention concerne une prothèse de l'articulation du genou comprenant deux éléments interconnectés en rotation (10, 11), dont le premier comporte un dispositif de freinage (18, 23) qui est relié rotatif à l'un des éléments interconnectés (10, 11) via un axe pivot (20). Lorsqu'il n'est pas sollicité, le dispositif de freinage permet aux éléments interconnectés (10, 11) de pivoter l'un par rapport à l'autre ; par contre, lorsqu'il est sollicité, il empêche la prothèse de l'articulation du genou de passer de la position d'extension à la position de flexion. La prothèse d'articulation du genou comporte en outre un dispositif d'activation (21, 22) du dispositif de freinage (17). Ce dispositif de freinage présente un centre géométrique par rapport auquel l'axe pivot (20) est excentré. De plus, la prothèse d'articulation de genou comporte une demi-rotule supérieure (14a) conçue pour se raccorder sur une prothèse de haut de jambe ou sur un manchon de prothèse (12) et une demi-rotule inférieure (14b) conçue pour se raccorder sur une prothèse de bas de jambe (13), chacune des demi-rotules comportant un élément de raccordement à réglage angulaire (36-39).
