An air spring assembly (100) including a first end member (102) that includes a side wall (122), and a second end member (104) spaced from the first end member. A flexible sleeve (106) includes a sleeve wall (132) and opposing open ends (134, 136) secured on the first and second end members. First and second retaining member (110 and 112 or 114 and 116) are used to secure one open end of the flexible sleeve on the associated end member. A method (200) is also disclosed.
