The present invention provides compositions for the treatment of conditions associated with low' bone density. The compositions comprise a payload molecule that comprises a nucleic acid selected from the group consisting of an oligonucleotide, an antisense construct, a siRNA, an enzymatic RNA, a mRNA, a recombinant DNA construct, a linear DNA fragment, a blocked linear DNA fragment and a mixture thereof ; a payload trapping molecule selected from the group consisting of chitosan, polyehtylenimine, poly-L-lysine, alginate, xanthan, hexadecyltrimenthylammoniumbromide and mixtures thereof ; and a carrier selected from a yeast particle or a yeast glucanmannan particle.
