Automated electronic review and approval of technical standards assists in product development (Figure 1). A draft technical standard is generated (30) and electronically circulated to a review group. Review group comments (34) are automatically attached to the draft technical standard. The draft technical standard is electronically locked (36) before circulation to an approval group. The approval group members have access to comments of the review group members. Electronic approvals are collected from each member of the review group. Once each member of the review group has electronically approved the standard, the standard is rendered unchangeable (42). The standard is then released (44) for global electronic access to a global database.

Un projet de norme technique est généré (30) et transmis électroniquement à une groupe de révision. Les commentaires (34) de ce groupe de révision sont automatiquement joints au projet de norme technique, lequel est verrouillé électroniquement (36) avant d'être transmis à un groupe d'approbation. Les membres de ce groupe d'approbation peuvent accéder aux commentaires des membres du groupe de révision, lesquels transmettent leurs approbations électroniques. Une fois que chaque membre du groupe de révision a approuvé électroniquement la norme, celle-ci devient non modifiable (42). Cette norme est ensuite émise (44) puis stockée dans une base globale de données de façon qu'il soit possible d'y accéder globalement par voie électronique.
