Controls and standards for assays and method for manufacturing the controls and standards is described. The controls or standards comprise a porous carrier material which has quantitatively reversibly absorbed and dried thereon an analyte for the control or standard wherein the analyte is not degraded over time while it is absorbed to the porous carrier material. Preferably, the controls and standards are provided as a control strip in (10) which the porous carrier material (20) is adhered to the distal end (16) of a support member (12). To quantitatively elute theanalyte from the carrier to a solvent for an assay, the carrier is contacted to the same solvent used for the samples in the assay. After the analyte has been eluted, the carrier is discarded and the assay is performed. The controls and standards are useful for assays which detect bacteria, fungi, viruses, and proteins.

L'invention concerne des témoins et des étalons d'analyses et leur procédé de production. Ces témoins et ces étalons comprennent une matière excipient poreuse qui a absorbé et séché quantitativement et de manière réversible sur une substance à analyser afin de la contrôler et de la mesurer. Ladite substance n'est pas dégradée dans le temps lorsqu'elle est absorbée par la matière excipient poreuse. De préférence, les témoins et les étalons sont fournis sous forme de bande de contrôle (10) dans laquelle la matière excipient poreuse (20) est adhérée à l'extrémité distale (16) d'un élément support (12). De manière à éluer quantitativement la substance à analyser de l'excipient vers un solvant d'une analyse, l'excipient est mis en contact avec le même solvant utilisé pour les échantillons dans l'analyse. Une fois que la substance à analyser a été éluée, l'excipient est rejeté et l'analyse est effectuée. Les commandes et les étalons sont utiles pour effectuer des analyses qui détectent des bactéries, des champignons, des virus et des protéines.
