A power transfer device for a front wheel drive motor vehicle includes an input shaft driven by a power source, a second shaft driven by the first shaft through one of a plurality of speed gearsets, an output gearset driven by the second shaft and a differential assembly. The differential assembly includes an electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated, clutch operable to place the differential assembly in one of an open mode, a locked mode and a limited slip mode. A clutch actuator includes an electric motor coupled to a pump where the pump provides pressurized fluid to the clutch to operate the clutch in one of the locked and limited slip modes.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de transmission de puissance pour un véhicule à moteur à traction avant qui comprend un arbre d'entrée entraîné par une source de puissance, un second arbre entraîné par le premier arbre par l'intermédiaire d'un parmi une pluralité de trains d'engrenages de vitesse, un train d'engrenages de sortie entraîné par le second arbre et un ensemble différentiel. L'ensemble différentiel comprend un embrayage à commande électronique et actionnement hydraulique qui peut fonctionner pour mettre l'ensemble différentiel dans l'un des modes suivants: mode ouvert, mode verrouillé et mode à glissement limité. Un actionneur d'embrayage comprend un moteur électrique accouplé à une pompe, ladite pompe alimentant l'embrayage en fluide sous pression pour le faire fonctionner soit en mode verrouillé soit en mode à glissement limité.
