A video recording device adapted to be resistive to thermal and mechanical shocks experienced in a catastrophic event, the device including a plurality of interchangeable components, the device comprising: a housing; a video component releasably mounted in the housing and having a lens for capturing images from an external environment of the device and a digital processor for producing digital data from the captured images; a memory component releasably mounted in the housing and releasably coupled to the video component adapted for storing the digital data received from the video component, the memory component including a non-volatile memory unit and an enclosure adapted for inhibiting the transfer of thermal and mechanical shocks from the external environment to the non-volatile memory unit, the non-volatile memory unit enclosed in the enclosure; and an interface component releasably mounted in the housing and releasably coupled to the video component and the memory component, the interface component adapted for providing power and data communication from the external environment to the video component and the memory component.
L'invention concerne un appareil d'enregistrement vidéo conçu pour résister aux chocs thermiques et mécaniques subis lors d'une catastrophe, l'appareil comprenant une pluralité de composants interchangeables, notamment un boîtier; un composant vidéo monté de façon amovible dans le boîtier et muni d'un objectif destiné à prendre des images d'un environnement externe à l'appareil et un processeur numérique destiné à produire des données numériques à partir des images prises; un composant mémoire monté de façon amovible dans le boîtier et couplé de façon amovible au composant vidéo, pour stocker les données numériques reçues dudit composant vidéo, le composant mémoire comprenant une unité mémoire rémanente et une enveloppe conçue de façon à empêcher le transfert des chocs thermiques et mécaniques provenant de l'environnement extérieur à l'unité mémoire rémanente, cette dernière étant logée dans l'enveloppe; et un composant interface monté de façon amovible dans le boîtier et couplé de façon amovible au composant vidéo et au composant mémoire, le composant interface étant conçu pour fournir une alimentation électrique et une communication de données à partir de l'environnement externe au composant vidéo et au composant mémoire.
