The present invention relates to a nasal topical application product for restricting the flow of airborne contaminants into a human nasal passage by creation of a proximate, enhanced electrostatic field. This nasal application product includes: (a) a plurality of masses of one or more electrostatic polymers; and, (b) a topical carrier having the plurality of masses dispersed through a portion thereof. At least one of the electrostatic polymers is a poly(dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride)polymer and is included in the product in an amount of at least 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymers and the topical carrier. The nasal application product may be topical solutions, semisolids, spray solutions and vaporizable solutions. Topical applications may be in the form of ointments, pastes, creams and gels. The carrier of the nasal application product of the present invention may be selected from the group consisting of dilutents, volatile spray carriers, lotions, solvents, gels and hydrogels. In some embodiments, substrates, e. g., bandage type substrates, with adhesive on one side and the product polymer(s) and carrier on the opposite side, may be employed.
La présente invention à un produit d'application topique nasale pour la limitation de flux de contaminants présents dans l'air dans un passage nasal par la génération d'un champ électrostatique proche. Le produit d'application nasale comporte : (a) une pluralité de masses d'un ou de plusieurs polymères électrostatiques; et (b) un support topique présentant une pluralité de masses dispersées à travers une portion de celui-ci. Au moins un des polymères électrostatiques est un polymère poly(chlorure d'ammonium de diméthylallylique) et est inclus dans le produit en une quantité égale ou supérieure à 10 % en poids, par rapport au poids total des polymères et du support topique. Le produit d'application nasale peut être des solutions topiques, des semi-solides, des solutions de pulvérisation, et des solutions vaporisables. Des applications topiques peuvent être sous la forme d'onguents, de pâtes, de crèmes et de gels. Le support du produit d'application nasale de la présente invention peut être choisi parmi le groupe constitué de diluants, de supports volatiles de pulvérisation, de lotions, de solvants, de gels et d'hydrogels. Dans certains modes de réalisation, on peut utiliser des substrats, par exemple, des substrats de type bandage, avec un adhésif sur une face et le(s) polymère(s) du produit et le support sur l'autre face.
