A latent photopolymerization initiator comprising a crystalline ion- association substance represented by the general formula (1): [{C5 (R1)a)2m M"]1+ [{B(R2).4}-]1, It can polymerize a cationically polymerizable organic substance with the aid of only sight irradiation without additional heating. It is extremely stable when stored alone or as a mixture with a cationically polymerizable organic substance.
