Abstract The present invention relates to a process for the treatment of pre- concentrated solid-liquid mixture streams, namely separating liquid from such mixture streams as completely as possible, in particular the dewatering of solid-liquid mixture streams. The invention is primarily characterized in that, in case of variable inlet conditions or parameters of the solid-liquid mixture stream, this solid-liquid mixture stream to be treated is first fed to an intermediate container, from where, as a function of its filling with the mixture stream to be treated, a preset stream volume of the mixture is supplied to a device for separating liquid, in particular a dewatering aggregate, by means of an associated metering device, while optionally comminuting of the solid-liquid mixture stream to be treated is carried out, and is led through this device at a throughput rate depending on the conveying rate of the metering device. The invention also relates to an installation to carry out the process.
