This invention provides a device for use in making dental models comprising a tray support (70) having an opening, and a tray (72) having an inferior surface with a projection (71) from the inferior surface of the tray, wherein the projection of the tray fits into the opening in the tray support, the tray support having attached thereto hinge portions (79) which are capable of interaction with hinge portions from a second tray support to form a completed hinge.
