Groups (2) are formed from flat articles (11 to 14) being supplied in a plurality of supply streams (1.1 to 1.4), by combining the supply streams (1.1 to 1.4) to form a group stream, in which a plurality of imbricated streams with the same scale spacings are superimposed and in which leading article edge zones of the superimposed im-bricated streams are aligned to one another in the conveying direction, and by sepa- rating article groups (2) from the head end of the group stream through clamping and accelerating aligned leading article edge zones. The supply streams (1.1 to 1.4) are superimposed in at least one combining point, wherein in all streams to be combined and in all superimposed streams the articles (11 to 14) are arranged in parallel in a direction transverse to the conveying direction, have the same article spacings and are conveyed with the same speed, wherein projections of the streams to be com- bined and of the superimposed streams (1.1 to 1.4) on a plane parallel to the parallel alignment of the articles (11 to 14) run parallel to one another or coincide, wherein projections of the streams to be combined (1.1 to 1.4) on a plane transverse to the parallel alignment of the articles (11 to 14) run together at an acute angle, and wherein the streams to be combined (1.1 to 1.4) are synchronised in such a manner, that during the stream superimposition leading article edge zones are substantially aligned to one another.
L'invention concerne la formation de groupes (2) d'objets plats (11 à 14) amenés en une pluralité de flux d'alimentation (1.1 à 1.4). Selon l'invention, ces flux d'alimentation (1.1 à 1.4) sont regroupés en un seul flux ; une pluralité de flux lamellés, dont les lamelles sont équidistantes, sont superposés ; les zones périphériques de tête des objets (11 à 14) des flux lamellés superposés sont orientées dans le sens d'acheminement ; des groupes (2) d'objets (11 à 14) sont séparés du bout terminal du flux regroupé par serrage et accélération des zones périphériques de tête superposées. Les flux d'alimentation (1.1 à 1.4) sont alors superposés en au moins un emplacement de regroupement, les objets (11 à 14) étant mutuellement parallèles et orientés transversalement relativement au sens d'acheminement dans tous les flux superposés à regrouper, et lesdits objets ayant le même écartement mutuel et se déplaçant à la même vitesse. Des projections des flux (1.1 à 1.4) superposés à regrouper sont mutuellement parallèles et coïncident sur un plan parallèle à l'orientation parallèle des objets (11 à 14). Des projections des flux (1.1 à 1.4) à regrouper convergent de manière tangentielle sur un plan transversal à l'orientation parallèle des objets (11 à 14). Les flux (1.1 à 1.4) à regrouper sont synchronisés de sorte que, lors de la superposition des flux, les zones périphériques de tête des objets (11 à 14) sont sensiblement superposées.
