The invention relates to a fixing element for fixing a first bone fragment (5.1), notably an ankle-bone fragment in ankle joint fractures, to a corresponding second bone fragment (5.2). Said element comprises an elongated spreading part (2) and a fixing part (1) which can be introduced into aligned holes (4, 6) in the bone fragments (5.1, 5.2). The fixing part has a proximal first section (1.1) designed to be introduced into the first bone fragment (5.1) and an adjoining distal second section (1.2) designed to be introduced into the second bone fragment (5.2), as well as a hollow cavity (3) extending substantially along its full length. The fixing part (1) is configured such that it can be fully introduced into the holes (4, 6); by proximal introduction of the spreading part (2) into the hollow cavity (3) at right angles to its longitudinal direction can be spread open by wedge action at least in the area of its two ends so as to be joined to the corresponding bone fragment (5.1, 5.2); and after introduction of the spreading part (2) has a greater transverse dimension at the distal end of the second section (1.2) than at the proximal end of said section.
L'invention concerne un élément de fixation servant à fixer un premier fragment osseux (5.1), notamment un fragment de cheville, dans le cas de fractures des articulations de la cheville, sur un deuxième fragment osseux associé (5.2). Cet élément de fixation présente un corps d'écartement allongé (2) et un corps de fixation (1) allongé, pouvant être introduit dans des orifices alignés (4, 6) dans les fragments osseux (5.1, 5.2). Ce corps de fixation (1) présente une première partie (1.1) proximale, à introduire dans le premier fragment osseux (5.1), une deuxième partie (1.2) distale, adjacente à la première partie, à introduire dans le deuxième fragment osseux (5.2), ainsi qu'une cavité (3) s'étendant essentiellement sur la longueur dudit corps de fixation. Le corps de fixation (1) est conçu de manière à pouvoir être introduit entièrement dans les orifices (4, 6). Il peut être écarté par introduction proximale du corps d'écartement (2) dans la cavité (3), transversalement à sa direction longitudinale, par effet de coin au moins au niveau de ses deux extrémités, pour être relié au fragment osseux respectif (5.1, 5.2). Après introduction du corps d'écartement (2), le corps de fixation (1) présente une dimension transversale plus importe au niveau de l'extrémité distale de la deuxième partie (1.2) qu'au niveau de l'extrémité proximale de cette dernière.
