A pharmaceutical product which includes two-chambers, one having a buffered diluent and the other having acetylcholine. Upon mixing the chamber contents, a buffered efficacious acetylcholine product is prepared for post-surgical ophthalmic injection. Another embodiment of the invention is a method of providing an acetylcholine product which has a substantially consistent final pH without substantial degradation of the acetylcholine. The method involves storing an unbuffered acetylcholine separate from a diluent solution which has been buffered, and mixing prior to use.
L'invention concerne un produit pharmaceutique comprenant deux chambres, l'une renfermant un diluant tamponné et l'autre renfermant de l'acétylcholine. Au mélange du contenu des deux chambres, on obtient un produit tamponné à base d'acétylcholine efficace pour les injections ophtalmiques post-chirurgicales. Selon un autre aspect, l'invention concerne un procédé relatif à l'élaboration d'un produit à base d'acétylcholine présentant un pH final sensiblement stable sans dégradation sensible de l'acétylcholine. Le procédé en question consiste à stocker de l'acétylcholine non tamponnée séparément d'une solution de diluant tamponnée, et à mélanger les deux avant utilisation.
