A method and system for storing and retrieving alphanumeric (83) and binary data values (78) includes storing in a tabular data archive (60) an open tabular format XML file (62) containing a plurality of alphanumeric data values (83) and meta-information (84). Meta-information (84 and 80) describes a predetermined set of characteristics of the alphanumeric data values(83) and binary data values (78). The method and system store in the tabular data archive (60) a plurality of individual binary files (64) each comprising exactly one binary data value (163, 164, 165, 166) and further describe the binary files (64) using the predetermined set of characteristics (80). The method further includes storing in the open tabular format XML file (62) a plurality of references (90) to the individual binary files (64). Thereafter, the open tabular format XML file (62) may be parsed for se.lectably retrieving at least one predetermined subset of the plurality of alphanumeric data values (83) and of the plurality of binary data values stored in individual binary files (64).
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de stockage et de récupération de valeurs de données alphanumériques (83) et binaires (78). Ledit procédé consiste à stocker dans une archive de données tabulaires (60) un fichier XML au format tabulaire ouvert (62) contenant une pluralité de valeurs de données alphanumériques (83) ainsi que de méta-informations (84). Les méta-informations (84 et 80) décrivent un ensemble prédéterminé de caractéristiques des valeurs de données alphanumériques (83) et des valeurs de données binaires (78). Le procédé et le système font appel au stockage, dans l'archive de données tabulaires (60), d'une pluralité de fichiers binaires individuels (64) comprenant chacun exactement une valeur de données binaire (163, 164, 165, 166) et font également appel à la description des fichiers binaires (64) à l'aide de l'ensemble prédéterminé de caractéristiques (80). Le procédé consiste en outre à stocker dans le fichier XML au format tabulaire ouvert (62), une pluralité de références (90) aux fichiers binaires individuels (64). Ensuite, le fichier XML au format tabulaire ouvert (62) peut être soumis à une analyse syntaxique pour récupérer de manière sélective au moins un sous-ensemble prédéterminé de la pluralité de valeurs de données alphanumériques (83) et de la pluralité de valeurs de données binaires stockées dans des fichiers binaires individuels (64).
