Provided is a technique whereby a physiologically active substance of biological origin such as an endotoxin or .beta.-D-glucan can be more conveniently and accurately detected and the concentration thereof can be determined even in the case of using a sample which contains a substance affecting LAL activity. For example, a sample is brought into contact with a substance (2) capable of adsorbing an endotoxin and thus the endotoxin contained in the sample is preliminarily adsorbed. Next, the sample per se is washed away and the adsorbed endotoxin (4) is reacted with LAL. Then the gelation of LAL or the formation of gel particles (5) is detected to thereby detecting the endotoxin and determining the concentration thereof.
L'invention porte sur une technique par laquelle une substance physiologiquement active d'origine biologique telle qu'une endotoxine ou le ß-D-glucane peut être détectée commodément et exactement, et la concentration de celle-ci peut être déterminée même dans le cas de l'utilisation d'un échantillon qui contient une substance ayant une incidence sur l'activité LAL. Par exemple un échantillon est amené en contact avec une substance (2) capable d'adsorber une endotoxine et ainsi l'endotoxine contenue dans l'échantillon est adsorbée de façon préliminaire. Ensuite, l'échantillon lui-même est éliminé par lavage et l'endotoxine adsorbée (4) est amenée à réagir avec LAL. Finalement, la gélification de LAL ou la formation de particules de gel (5) est détectée pour ainsi détecter l'endotoxine et déterminer la concentration de celle-ci.
