A mining shovel includes a frame having upwardly extending vertical members. A stiff leg having a lower end pivotally connected to the frame, and an upper end. A dipper handle has a connecting end pivotally connected to the stiff leg upper end, and a dipper end. A boom having a connecting end connected to the support member above the stiff leg lower end extends forwardly over the dipper handle. A crowd handle is mounted in the support member.
