ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an apparatus for sorting mixtures of garbage by irradiating the objects in the garbage with electro-magnetic and/or acoustic waves, recording the waves emanating from the objects in the garbage so irradiated in a signal processing apparatus in order to identify the objects in the garbage, and transmission of signals from the signal processing apparatus for identifying the objects in the garbage and the transmission of signals from the signal processing apparatus to a separator that extracts the objects that have been so identified in the garbage.
