- 11 - SUMMARY: The invention concerns a method and a device for reducing the driving power for an hydraulic lift, in which an energy-saving drive is realised by an advantageous combination of different equipments. The lift cage (1) is suspended in the shaft (7) by an in itself known cable deflection in the ratio of 4:2 and connected with an hydraulic piston-cylinder unit (10). A counterweight system in the ratio of 2:1 is arranged at the head end (16) of the piston cylinder unit (10) in order that the required pressure force at the piston can be reduced. The counterweight (23) is so designed that the weight of the cage and the foreseeably most frequently arising load in the cage are balanced out. The cylinder (11) of the piston-cylinder unit (10) is charged by the pump for the upward travel as well also for the downward travel of the lift cage (1), wherein a differential circulation of the fluid currents take place for the upward travel, whereby a smaller fluid volume can be used for the dimensioning of the pump.
