A system is shown and described wherein a portable printer is used to produce tags for attachment to mail trays. The printer is uploaded with plans that are the same as sort plans stored in the memory of a sorting machine with which the printer is to be used. The same sort plan that is selected for operation of the sorting machine will be input into the printer so that tags can be printed and attached to mail trays on an as needed basis. These tags can be colored coded so that the targeted day of delivery of the mail can be indicated. Act tags can be printed by scanning the mail tray tags.
Système comportant une imprimante portative qui est utilisée pour imprimer des étiquettes pour des plateaux de courrier. Des plans, semblables aux plans de tri versés dans la mémoire d'une machine à trier, sont téléchargés dans l'imprimante destinée à être utilisée à cette fin. Le plan de tri sélectionné pour utilisation dans la machine à trier sera chargé dans l'imprimante de manière à ce que des étiquettes puissent être imprimées et placées sur les plateaux de courrier au besoin. Ces étiquettes peuvent être chromocodées, par exemple pour indiquer la date à laquelle le courrier doit être livré. Des étiquettes de suivi peuvent être imprimées par balayage des plateaux de courrier.
