A process for treating organic compounds includes providing a composition which includes a substantially mesoporous structure of silica containing at least 97% by volume of pores having a pore size ranging from about 15 .ANG. to about 30.ANG. and having a micropore volume of at least about 0.01 cc/g, wherein the mesoporous structure has incorporated therewith at least about 0.02% by weight of at least one catalytically and/or chemically active heteroatom selected from the group consisting of Al, Ti, V, Cr, Zn, Fe, Sri, Mo, Ga, Ni, Co, In, Zr, Mn, Cu, Mg, Pd, Pt and W, and the catalyst has an X- ray diffraction pattern with one peak at 0.3~ to about 3.5~ at 2.theta.. The catalyst is contacted with an organic feed under reaction conditions wherein the treating process is selected from alkylation, acylation, oligomerization, selective oxidation, hydrotreating, isomerization, demetalation, catalytic dewaxing, hydroxylation, hydrogenation, ammoximation, isomerization, dehydrogenation, cracking and adsorption.

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement de composés organiques consistant, entre autres, à fournir une composition comprenant une structure siliceuse sensiblement mésoporeuse qui comporte au moins 97 % en volume de pores dont les dimensions sont comprises dans une plage allant d'approximativement 15 .ANG. à approximativement 30 .ANG., le volume microporeux étant au moins approximativement égal à 0,01 cc/g. Selon l'invention, ladite structure mésoporeuse comporte au moins approximativement 0,02 % en poids d'au moins un hétéroatome catalytiquement et/ou chimiquement actif sélectionné dans le groupe rassemblant les éléments Al, Ti, V, Cr, Zn, Fe, Sn, Mo, Ga, Ni, Co, In, Zr, Mn, Cu, Mg, Pd, Pt et W, et le catalyseur présente un diagramme de diffraction des rayons X qui comporte un pic entre 0,3· et approximativement 3,5· pour 2.theta.. Le catalyseur est mis en contact avec une charge organique dans des conditions de réaction et ledit procédé de traitement est sélectionné parmi les procédés suivants : alkylation, acylation, oligomérisation, oxydation sélective, hydrotraitement, isomérisation, démétallation, déparaffinage catalytique, hydroxylation, hydrogénation, ammoximation, déshydrogénation, craquage et adsorption.
