Disclosed is a compound useful as a therapeutic agent for tinea, protozoan infection and/or Pneumocystis pneumonia. Capnodiaceae strain No. 339855 is collected, and a polyketide compound is isolated from a culture of the bacterium. It is confirmed that the polyketide compound or a salt thereof has a good anti-trichophyton bacteria activity and is useful as a medicinal agent, particularly a therapeutic agent for tinea. The cyclic compound or a salt thereof can be used as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for tinea, protozoan infection and/or Pneumocystis pneumonia (former name: Pneumocysis carinii pneumonia).

L'invention porte sur un composé utile comme agent thérapeutique pour la teigne, une infection protozoaire et/ou une pneumonie à Pneumocystis. La souche n°339855 de Capnodiaceae est recueillie et un composé polycétide est isolé à partir d'une culture de la bactérie. Il est confirmé que le composé polycétide ou un sel de celui-ci a une bonne activité contre les bactéries trichophytons et est utile comme agent médicinal, en particulier comme agent thérapeutique pour la teigne. Le composé cyclique ou un sel de celui-ci peut être utilisé comme agent prophylactique ou thérapeutique pour la teigne, une infection protozoaire et/ou une pneumonie à Pneumocystis (auparavant appelée : pneumonie interstitielle à Pneumocystis carinii).
