A method for operating a telephony device accounts for variations in international standards for certain telephony operations, including hook flash functionality, pulse dialing operations, tone dialing operations, jitter buffer size, debounce characteristics, transmitter and receiver gain, caller identification functionality, pulse signaling operations, and ringing operations. The method includes defining each of the plurality of values as a management information base object; receiving a plurality of downloadable values downloaded to the telephony device over an Internet Protocol network as a management information base table; storing the plurality of downloadable values in a memory in the telephony device; and using the stored plurality of downloadable values to control operations of the telephony device, including hook flash functionality, pulse dialing operations, tone dialing operations, jitter buffer size, debounce characteristics, transmitter and receiver gain, caller identification functionality, pulse signaling operations, tone operations, call progress tones (e.g., busy tone, ringback, tone, dial tone, etc.) and ringing operations. Various ranges and default values are established to provide a wide range of operating capability.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'exploitation d'un système de téléphonie qui tient compte des standards internationaux pour certaines opérations téléphoniques, notamment : manoeuvre du crochet commutateur, composition au cadran, composition au clavier, capacité de la mémoire tampon de gigue, caractéristiques antirebond, gain de l'émetteur et du récepteur, identification de l'appelant, signalisation par impulsions et fonctions d'appel. Ce procédé consiste à : définir chacune des valeurs de la pluralité des valeurs comme un objet de base d'information de gestion; recevoir une pluralité de valeurs téléchargeables qui sont téléchargées vers un système de téléphonie via un réseau IP sous la forme d'un tableau de base d'informations de gestion; stocker la pluralité des valeurs téléchargeables dans une mémoire du système de téléphonie; et enfin, utiliser la pluralité de valeurs téléchargeables stockées pour commander les opérations du système de téléphonie, notamment : manoeuvre du crochet commutateur, composition au cadran, composition au clavier, capacité de la mémoire tampon de gigue, caractéristiques antirebond, gain de l'émetteur et du récepteur, identification de l'appelant, signalisation par impulsions, fonctions de tonalité, tonalité de progression d'appels (par ex., tonalité d'occupation, rappel, tonalité de numérotation, etc.) et fonctions d'appel. Diverses séries de valeurs et valeurs par défaut sont établies pour offrir une gamme étendue de capacités de fonctionnement.
