A fluid-powered, laterally tiltable quick disconnect bucket actuator(40). An actuator (40) has a generally cylindrical body (42) with an output shaft (50) rotatably disposed therein with an axis in general parallel alignment with a forward rotation plane through which the bucket (34) is rotatable on a backhoe arm (20) by the operation of a rotation link (24). A bracket (68) is attached to the body (42) and has a pair of clevises (76, 80) for pivotal attachment to the vehicle arm (20) and rotation link (24). In one embodiment, the shaft (50) has two pairs of attachment forks (57, 61) for attaching the shaft (50) to corresponding clevises (36, 38) of a bucket. In alternative embodiments, the extendable member (58) has a locking pin portion (210) which is extended to seat in a bucket receiver aperture (202) to lock the bucket (34) in posi- tion or retracted within a shaft aperture (116) to release the bucket (34). In one embodiment, the member (58) is manually rotated and in another embodiment the extendable member is moved by a hydraulic piston (214).
