A method and system for protecting access to services on client server computing systems based on client request and server response models, by assignment of service specific tokens for use with client service requests. The tokens are employed as indicators that certain antecedent client requests have been communicated to the server. The criteria to determine whether the server response that is the object of the client request should be performed may include factors such as request class, format, correctness, and time. The server may make further determinations with respect to other criteria that are deterministic in relation to a particular request.
