The invention relates to method of producing chlorine dioxide comprising the steps of: providing a reactor with an aqueous acidic reaction medium containing chlorate ions; reacting said chlorate ions with hydrogen peroxide as a reducing agent in such proportions that chlorine dioxide is formed; withdrawing the chlorine dioxide from the reaction medium; wherein the content of tin in the reaction medium at steady state is maintained below 20 mg Sn per kg reaction medium.

L'invention porte sur une méthode pour la production de dioxyde de chlore, consistant à : alimenter un réacteur avec un milieu réactionnel aqueux acide, contenant des ions chlorate; faire réagir ces ions chlorate avec du peroxyde d'hydrogène comme agent réducteur, dans des proportions conduisant à la formation de dioxyde de chlore; séparer le dioxyde de chlore du milieu de réaction. La teneur en étain du milieu de réaction à l'état stable est maintenue à une valeur ne dépassant pas 20 mg de Sn par kg de milieu réactionnel.
