Abstract A high energy chemical battery has, under the condition that its volume is not to be increased, improved performances. When the anode is of the trihedral columnar structure, the anode is a trihedral column having a triangular cross-section, and the cathode is of the shape of a thin plate to be fit against the anode. Its anode and cathode grids are lattticed frames. In the cylindrical body structure, the anode comprises a single cylindrical body grid, the cathode is a thin plate that makes a circuit of the anode, and the anode and cathode grids are latticed frames. When the flank of the anode and cathode plates are of a wavy up and down surface structure, the grids are latticed frame with the depressions unpunctured, the depressions are coated or filled with active material. The wavy up and down surfaces of the anode and cathode plates fit face to face to form the overall structure of the chemical battery.
