A rear ski assembly for a snowmobile to provide increased stability, the assembly including first and second spaced apart skis, interconnecting means extending between the skis, a supporting structure for supporting the interconnecting means with the interconnecting means being mounted on the supporting structure so as to be rotatable therein, the interconnecting means being attached to the skis to permit movement of the skis, biasing means being operative to normally bias the interconnecting means to a position wherein a geometric plane passing through an axis of rotation of the interconnecting means and points of attachment is between horizontal and vertical plane. The arrangement can also be used to support a baggage carrier.
