In one embodiment, a method for drilling a wellbore includes injecting drilling fluid into a top of a tubular string disposed in the wellbore at a first flow rate. The tubular string includes: a drill bit tubular joints connected together, a longitudinal bore therethrough, and a port through a wall thereof. The drilling fluid exits the drill bit and carries cuttings from the drill bit. The cuttings and drilling fluid (returns) flow to the surface via an annulus defined between the tubular string and the wellbore. The method further includes rotating the drill bit while injecting the drilling fluid; remotely removing a plug from the port, thereby opening the port; and injecting drilling fluid into the port at a second flow rate while adding a tubular joint or stand of joints to the tubular string. The injection of drilling fluid is continuously maintained between drilling and adding the joint or stand to the drill string. The method further includes remotely installing a plug into the port. A clamp specially adapted to carry out this method is also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour forer un puits comprenant l'injection d'un fluide de forage dans une partie supérieure d'une ligne tubulaire disposée dans le trou de forage à un premier débit d'écoulement. La ligne tubulaire comprend : un trépan disposé sur une partie inférieure de celle-ci, des joints tubulaires reliés ensemble, un alésage longitudinal traversant, et un orifice à travers une paroi de celle-ci. Le fluide de forage sort du trépan et transporte des débris à partir du trépan. Les débris et le fluide de forage (retournent) s'écoulent vers la surface via un anneau défini entre la ligne tubulaire et le forage. Le procédé comprend de plus la mise en rotation du trépan tout en injectant le fluide de forage; l'enlèvement à distance d'un bouchon à partir de l'orifice, en ouvrant ainsi l'orifice; et l'injection de fluide de forage dans l'orifice au niveau d'un second débit tout en ajoutant un joint tubulaire ou une longueur de joint sur la ligne tubulaire. L'injection de fluide de forage dans la ligne tubulaire est maintenue en continu entre le forage et l'ajout du joint ou de la longueur sur la ligne de forage. Le procédé comprend de plus l'installation à distance d'un bouchon dans l'orifice, fermant ainsi l'orifice. Les premier et second débits peuvent être sensiblement égaux ou différents.
