A C8-C20 hydrocarbon well treatment fluid has at least 10% by weight diamondoids and a sufficient quantity of aromatics to maintain solubility of the diamondoids in the fluid at 20°C and atmospheric pressure. A method of producing a well treatment fluid by obtaining a hydrocarbon feedstock known to contain diamondoids, and treating the hydrocarbon feedstock by distillation to increase diamondoid content and thereby produce a well treatment fluid. A method of treating a well by obtaining a hydrocarbon well treatment fluid known to contain diamondoids and sufficient aromatics to maintain solubility of the diamondoids in the fluid at 20°C and atmospheric pressure, and circulating the well treatment fluid in a well to remove asphaltenes from the well.
