-9- This invention provides a mop having an integrated liquid pump which allows liquid absorbed by the mop head assembly to be removed by a manual pumping action. A one-way valve assembly prevents liquid from flowing backwards towards the mop head assembly. A universal joint is formed between the mop head assembly and the mop stem assembly, so that the mop head assembly may make continuous contact with a surface to be cleaned.
