A system, method and apparatus providing for the search, identification, retrieval and analysis of data contained in World Wide Web (WWW) and network pages and storage repositories. Mechanisms are provided to facilitate selection of such data as is required by a user, to report in a manner required by the user and to present the results in a plurality of ways. Also disclosed is a system, method to protect information retrieval from Information Servers such as those found on the world wide web (WWW). A method is described to analyze accesses to the information server for patterns indicating the type of system accessing the server. A method is described to format information such that it cannot be easily machine analyzed by such apparatus as lexical analysis and textual search methods. A method is described to include information into information server contents such that it would mislead and otherwise confuse non-human systems used to retrieve the data. Other methods describe access signature analysis and how this can be used to detect and optionally prevent or modify information requests.
L'invention concerne un système, un procédé et un dispositif permettant de rechercher, d'identifier, de récupérer et d'analyser des données contenues dans le Web (WWW), et dans des pages et des organes de dépôt de réseau. Des dispositifs facilitent la sélection de ces données selon le choix de l'utilisateur, la signalisation de celles-ci d'une manière choisie par l'utilisateur et la présentation des résultats de multiples manières. L'invention concerne aussi un système et un procédé visant à protéger l'extraction d'informations de serveurs d'informations tels que ceux du WWW. Un procédé permet d'analyser les accès au serveur d'informations en vue de trouver des motifs indiquant le type de système accédant au serveur. Un procédé permet de formater des informations afin qu'elle ne puissent pas être facilement analysées par machine par un dispositif tel que des procédés de recherche textuelle et d'analyse lexicale. Un procédé vise à inclure des informations dans du contenu de serveur d'informations de façon à induire en erreur ou à dérouter d'une autre manière des systèmes non humains utilisés pour récupérer des données. D'autres procédés concernent l'analyse de signatures d'accès et la manière d'utiliser celle-ci pour détecter, et éventuellement prévenir ou modifier des demandes d'informations.
