A self-contained grenade capable of dispersing a non-toxic obscurant composition, or various types of aerosol compositions such as pesticides or antimicrobial/sanitizing agents, is provided. The obscurant or other type of aerosol composition is released via an exothermic reaction. Release of the obscurant or other type of aerosol composition is effected in a controlled manner by creating heat via a heat producing composition comprising, for example, a thermite composition. The obscurant or other type of aerosol composition is absorbed into a heat transfer media disposed adjacent the heat producing composition. When the exothermic reaction occurs, the heat transfer media transfers the heat to the absorbed material, thereby providing a regulated thermal dispersion of same.
L'invention concerne une grenade autonome pouvant disperser une composition obscurcissante non toxique, ou divers types de compositions d'aérosol tels que des pesticides ou des agents antimicrobiens/désinfectants. La composition obscurcissante ou l'autre type de composition d'aérosol est libérée par une réaction exothermique. La libération de la composition obscurcissante ou de l'autre type de composition d'aérosol est réalisée de manière contrôlée en créant de la chaleur par l'intermédiaire d'une composition génératrice de chaleur comprenant, par exemple, une composition aluminothermique. La composition obscurcissante ou l'autre type de composition d'aérosol est absorbée dans un milieu de transfert de chaleur disposé adjacent à la composition de production de chaleur. Quand la réaction exothermique survient, le milieu de transfert de chaleur transfère la chaleur dans le matériau absorbé, fournissant ainsi une dispersion thermique régulée de celle-ci.
