Abstract of Disclosure: A sieving apparatus possessing slits or gaps consists of principally straight staves (2) which define the sieve gap and which are fixed in securing elements (1) arranged typically transversely thereto. In a preferred embodiment, the connection between the staves and the securing elements is produced by high temperature vacuum soldering or brazing. The sieves formed in accordance with the invention are of the highest precision and ruggedness. Sorting of fiber suspensions is one application for which the use of such sieving apparatus is envisaged. (Fig. 1)
