A photometric or spectrophotometric apparatus and method wherein a sample is contained in a pipette held between two surfaces, one containing a photometric or spectrophotometric source and the other a photometric or spectrophotometric detector and an optical path is established through the walls of the pipette tip and through the sample between the two surfaces. Use of a disposable pipette tip which may be left attached to pipette tip during sample analysis or reattached to the pipette device following analyses, provides a means to recover the sample for subsequent applications and manipulations, and enables especially small volume samples to be analysed.
L'invention concerne un appareil photométrique ou spectrophotométrique et un procédé associé, selon lequel un échantillon est contenu dans une pipette retenue entre deux surfaces, dont une contient une source photométrique ou spectrophotométrique et l'autre un détecteur photométrique ou spectrophotométrique, et une voie optique est établie à travers les parois de l'embout de la pipette et à travers l'échantillon entre les deux surfaces. L'utilisation d'un embout de pipette jetable pouvant être attaché à gauche de l'embout de la pipette pendant l'analyse d'un échantillon ou rattaché au dispositif de pipette après réalisation des analyses permet d'engendrer un moyen de récupérer l'échantillon en vue d'applications et de manipulations ultérieures et d'analyser, notamment, des échantillons de petit volume.
