The present invention provides for a spring compactor machine to compact springs, comprising: a force applied at an angle substantially between 35 degrees and 155 degrees to an at rest spring's restoring force axis with an equal and opposite restraining force applied substantially between 215 and 325 degrees to the spring's restoring force axis. Wherein when both the applied force and the restraining force substantially exceed the plastic limit of the spring, the spring is deformed and the restoring force of the spring no longer returns the spring to its original shape. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, the forces are applied to the spring inside at least one compaction chamber. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, prior to compaction of the spring all non-metal material attached to the spring or a set of springs is removed. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, manufactured supports attached to and holding the springs together are modified via deformation and/or cutting prior to compaction. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, a post compaction folding and re-compaction chamber is provided to assure optimal final volumetric dimensions and/or unit weights of the compacted spring.
La présente invention concerne une machine de compactage de ressorts pour compacter des ressorts, comprenant : l'application d'une force selon un angle compris essentiellement entre 35 degrés et 155 degrés sur un axe de force de rappel d'un ressort au repos avec une force de compression égale et opposée appliquée essentiellement entre 215 et 325 degrés par rapport à l'axe de force de rappel du ressort. Lorsque la force appliquée et la force de compression dépassent sensiblement la limite élastique du ressort, le ressort se déforme et la force de rappel du ressort ne fait plus revenir le ressort dans sa forme d'origine. Selon un aspect préféré de la présente invention, les forces sont appliquées au ressort à l'intérieur d'au moins un compartiment de compactage. Selon un aspect préféré de la présente invention, avant le compactage du ressort, tous les matériaux non métalliques fixés sur le ressort ou un ensemble de ressorts sont enlevés. Selon un aspect préféré de la présente invention, des supports manufacturés fixés sur les ressorts et les maintenant ensemble sont modifiés via déformation et/ou découpe avant le compactage. Selon un aspect préféré de la présente invention, un compartiment de post-compactage, de pliage et de recompactage est fourni pour garantir des dimensions volumétriques finales optimales et/ou un poids unitaire du ressort compacté.
