A voltage controlled Colpitts type crystal oscillator includes a first crystal and a transistor coupled to the first crystal to provide positive feedback for generating an output oscillatory signal. A variable capacitance is coupled to the first crystal for producing a change in a frequency of the oscillatory signal when a corresponding change in the variable capacitance occurs. A first inductance is coupled in a resonant circuit that includes the variable capacitance and the first crystal having a value selected to provide a pulling range of at least 0.4% with respect to the frequency of the oscillatory signal. In one embodiment of the invention, a second crystal is coupled to the first crystal and included in the resonant circuit. An energy dissipating impedance is coupled in the resonant circuit to the first crystal for decreasing a Q characteristic of the first crystal to increase the pulling range of the oscillator. The first inductance separates the second crystal from each of the first crystal and the energy dissipating impedance to decrease an effect of the energy dissipating impedance on a Q characteristic of the second crystal.
L'invention concerne un oscillateur à cristal du type Colpitts commandé par tension comprenant un premier cristal et un transistor couplé à ce premier cristal et produisant une réaction positive permettant de générer un signal oscillant de sortie. Une capacité variable est couplée au premier cristal de façon à produire une modification de fréquence du signal oscillant lorsqu'une modification correspondante de capacité variable se produit. Une première inductance est couplée dans un circuit résonant comprenant la capacité variable et le premier cristal, dont une valeur sélectionnée permet d'obtenir une gamme de tirage d'au moins 0,4% par rapport à la fréquence du signal oscillant. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, un second cristal est couplé au premier cristal et compris dans le circuit résonant. Une impédance de dissipation d'énergie est couplée dans le circuit résonant au premier cristal en vue de diminuer une caractéristique Q du premier cristal, d'où l'accroissement de la gamme de tirage de l'oscillateur. La première inductance sépare le second cristal du premier cristal et de l'impédance de dissipation d'énergie en vue de réduire un effet de l'impédance de dissipation d'énergie sur une caractéristique Q du second cristal.
