Wind turbine with a rotor blade wherein said blade is relatively insensitive to turbulence because it is more slender than according to the prior art and is nevertheless able to generate sufficient lift by virtue of the fact that flow enhancing means such as vortex generators combat flow separation. The slenderness is defined by the chord numbers C and D of which C is defined as C = Nc r c lr.lambda.2/R2, in which N is the number of blades, c r is the local chord, cl the lift coefficient, r the radial position, the tip speed ratio and R the rotor radius. Subsequently, the chord should be less than what follows from the equation C = M in which M = -1.19 +9.74C p -21.01C p 2 +17.50C p 3 and C p is the power coefficient. A wind turbine according to the invention is subject to about 2-12% less operational loads and to about 5-40% reduced survival wind speed loads compared to classical designs.

L'invention concerne une éolienne à pale de rotor, ladite pale étant relativement insensible aux turbulences puisqu'elle est plus effilée que dans la technique actuelle et peut néanmoins produire une portance suffisante du fait que les moyens renforçant l'écoulement tels que les générateurs de vortex combattent le décollement de l'écoulement. L'éffilement est défini par le nombre de cordes C et D, C étant défini comme C = Nc r c l r.lambda. 2 /R 2, où N représente le nombre de pales, c r la corde locale, cl le coefficient de portance, r la position radiale, le rapport de vitesse de pointe et R le rayon du rotor. Une éolienne, selon l'invention, est soumise à des charges opérationnelles inférieures d'environ 2 - 12% et à des charges de vitesse d'arrêt moindres d'environ 5-40% par rapport aux conceptions classiques.
