A drag reduction system introduces pressurized gases to selected regions of a vehicle, such as a tractor trailer combination 100 for reducing the aerodynamic drag thereon. The system 140 or any combination of components thereof may be installed on new combinations or may be retrofitted on existing combinations. The drag reduction system may be controlled to selectively determine which regions receive pressurized gases and at what flow rates such regions receive the pressurized gas.

Cette invention concerne un système de réduction de traînée qui introduit des gaz sous pression dans des zones choisies d'un véhicule, tel qu'une combinaison tracteur-remorque (100), afin de réduire la traînée aérodynamique sur celui-ci. Le système (140) ou toute combinaison de composants de celui-ci peut être installé sur de nouvelles combinaisons ou peut être installé en rattrapage sur des combinaisons existantes. Le système de réduction de traînée peut être commandé pour déterminer sélectivement quelles sont les zones qui reçoivent les gaz sous pression et à quel débit ces zones reçoivent le gaz sous pression.
