The invention concerns a device for provoking the collapse of a snow cornice comprising several exploders (11). Each exploder (11) consists of a main cylinder (12), perpendicular to the support base (14) arranged flat on the ground, and a positioning tube (13) connected to the main cylinder and mounted on a rigid seat (15) fixed to the mountain side. A supply conduit (20), connected by conduits (23, 24) respectively to an oxygen cylinder and a propane cylinder stored in a shelter (22), supplies via conduit sections (9) a detonating gas mixture, obtained from two gases, into the positioning tube (13) and into the main cylinder (12). Igniting means (21) mounted upstream of the supply conduit (20) ensure the ignition of the detonating gas mixture.

Le dispositif (10) pour provoquer la rupture d'une corniche de neige comporte plusieurs exploseurs (11). Chaque exploseur (11) se compose d'un cylindre principal (12), perpendiculaire à un socle d'appui (14) disposé à plat sur le sol, et d'un tube de positionnement (13) raccordé au cylindre principal et monté sur une embase rigide (15) fixée au flanc de la montagne. Un conduit d'alimentation (20), relié par des conduits (23, 24) respectivement à une bouteille d'oxygène et une bouteille de propane stockées dans un abri (22), amène par l'intermédiaire de tronçons de conduits (9) un mélange gazeux détonant, obtenu à partir de ces deux gaz, dans le tube de positionnement (13) et dans le cylindre principal (12). Des moyens d'allumage (21) montés en amont du conduit d'alimentation (20) assurent l'allumage du mélange gazeux détonant.
