An algorithm is provided which uses a model-based concept of a cluster and scores items using a score representative of the probability that a given item has been generated from the same distribution as one or more query items. The items are represented by a feature vector xi comprising a plurality of digitally represented features xij the method including: receiving an input identifying the query items; for each of the other items computing a score which is a function of a conditional probability of the feature vectors xij of the query items being generated from the generating distribution formula (I) given that the respective other item is generated from the generating distribution formula (I) and returning a score for each of the other items, a list of some or all of the other items, sorted by their respective score, or a list of n other items which have the highest score.
On décrit un algorithme qui utilise un concept d'un bloc basé sur un modèle et note des articles selon une note représentant la probabilité qu'un article donné a été généré à partir de la même distribution en tant qu'un ou plusieurs articles d'interrogation. Les articles sont représentés par un vecteur d'attributs xi comprenant une pluralité d'attributs xij représentés numériquement. Le procédé consiste à: recevoir une entrée identifiant les articles d'interrogation; calculer pour chaque autre article une note en fonction d'une probabilité conditionnelle des vecteurs d'attributs xij des articles d'interrogation actuellement générés à partir de la répartition génératrice p(xi?.theta.), étant donné que l'autre article respectif est généré à partir de la répartition génératrice p(xi?.theta.); et fournir une note pour chaque autre article, pour une liste de quelques-uns ou de tous les autres articles triés selon leur note respective, ou pour une liste de n autres articles présentant la note la plus élevée.
