ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A presser foot has a generally rectangular, solid block-shaped foot means made from transparent material and integral with a stem for securing the foot means to a presser bar of a sewing machine. An aperture is provided in the foot means for needle passage. The height of the foot means is such that the needle eye reaches out of the passage when in upper position, while the needle tip is generally coincident with the top surface of the foot means. Thus, the invention provides a relatively inexpensive presser foot whose shape is also operative as a safety guard.
