An apparatus and method for molding compartmentalized shielding structures or housings is disclosed. The molding apparatus includes a core portion and a cavity portion with either the core portion or the cavity portion having a recess adapted to instructually arrange to operate with a plunger member which is operable between an extended and a collapsed position. A conductive flexible shielding material is positioned on at least the surface of the plunger such that when the plunger is operated to the retracted position, the exposed ends of the shielding material are positioned within the recess of the core or cavity portion. Injection of the moldable plastic into the molding apparatus results in a molded housing having a compartmentalized shielding structure integrally molded to the plastic housing.
