The invention relates to a fuel cell unit for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, with at least one fuel cell module and/or fuel cell stack. According to the invention, the fuel cell stack (10) and/or the fuel cell module (10) is mounted on the vehicle (1) by means of a mechanically-indirect coupling. A flat stack comprising PEM or in particular HT-PEM cells is used to advantage as a fuel cell module (10).
