ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A plastic grave marker is a plaque with an integral rear socket to receive the head of a stake. The socket has side walls, rear wall and top wall molded integrally with the plaque to receive engageably the top portion of the stake. The socket walls and plaque are all of the same thickness. The grave marker is one piece, which confers additional strength on the socket. Most prior art grave markers either had to be assembled before driving into the ground, or afterwards and are considerably more complicated. The grave marker front has marked off areas to receive indicia, such as name of deceased, birth and death dates, and the name of the funeral home or funeral director. The plastic is not only practical, but is also esthetic.
