An instrument is disclosed for carrying out controlled microwave assisted chemical processes, and that is particularly useful for handling relatively small samples. The instrument includes a microwave-transparent reaction vessel with an open mouth, a pressure-resistant seal on the mouth of the vessel, and a needle, portions of which penetrate the seal with a first end of the needle and provide fluid communication into the vessel. A pressure transducer is at the opposite end of the needle and in fluid communication with the interior of the vessel through the needle. The instrument defines a pressure control flow path from a portion of the needle outside of the vessel to a fluid port, the flow path being in communication with the needle, the interior of the vessel and the transducer. A controllable pressure release valve for the flow path is- associated with the port.
L'invention concerne un instrument permettant la mise en oeuvre de processus chimiques assistés par micro-ondes, lequel est particulièrement utile pour la manipulation d'échantillons relativement petits. Cet instrument comprend une cuve à réaction transparente aux micro-ondes pourvue d'une ouverture, un élément de fermeture résistant à la pression placé sur ladite ouverture de la cuve, et une aiguille dont une partie, à savoir la première extrémité, pénètre ledit élément de fermeture et permet la communication fluidique avec l'intérieur de la cuve. Un transducteur de pression est placé à l'extrémité opposée de l'aiguille et est en communication fluidique avec l'intérieur de la cuve, par l'intermédiaire de l'aiguille. L'instrument définit un canal d'écoulement à régulation de pression entre la partie de l'aiguille se trouvant à l'extérieur de la cuve et un orifice à fluide, ce passage d'écoulement étant en communication avec l'aiguille, l'intérieur de la cuve et le transducteur. Une soupape de relâchement de pression commandée destinée audit passage d'écoulement est associée audit orifice.
