A nonwoven fabric suitable for use as a kitchen paper comprises 90 to 10% by weight of thermoplastic synthetic fibers having a length of 7 to 30 mm and a fineness of 0.1 to 0.8 d, mixed with 10 to 90% by weight of pulp fibers having a length of 2 to 7 mm, the thermoplastic synthetic fibers being mechanically entangled with the pulp fibers. Such a nonwoven fabric has a basis weight of 10 to 80 g/m2.
