The modified proteins of the invention comprise an attached lipid protein, wherein one or more acyl groups are linked to the protein through a carbohydrate side-chain and various covalent linkage chemistries which are provided. Lipidized antibodies of the invention can be used for diagnostic and therapeutic uses.
