A method of issuing an electronic negotiable doc-ument (END) comprising: creating as data an END and storing this in a tamper-resistant document carrier, the doc-ument carrier containing a unique public-secret key pair for signing and verifying and a unique document carrier iden-tifier; signing the unique document-carrier identifier, the END and an END identifier using the secret key of the public-secret key pair and storing the result in the docu-ment carrier.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour émettre un document électronique négociable (DEN) consistant à créer un DEN sous la forme de données et enregister celui-ci dans un support de documents inviolable, le support de documents contenant une paire de clés publique-secrète unique pour signer et vérifier ainsi qu'un identificateur unique de support de documents, à signer l'unique identificateur de support de documents, le DEN et un identificateur de DEN au moyen de la clé secrète de la paire de clés publique-secrète et à enregistrer le résultat dans le support de documents.
